Refusal for against merit admission to influential political leader's kids costs Aitchison College Principal his job

Many people wonder why Pakistan could not make a success story when other countries in the region like India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are making remarkable progress on all social indicators (like world bank indicators of quality of education system, enforcement of contracts etc). 

Few people point fingers to international forces that in pursuit of their vested interests have damaged Pakistan and further aggravated its chronic problems. In part it may the case; largely it is us as a nation who are responsible for this decay. Fundamental problem is Pakistan’s failure as a state to build a structure that appreciates and operates on the basis of merit.

Those who are in power love to break rules for their personal gains and benefits. Prime example of this mindset of Pakistani ruling elite is evident from recent sacking of Aitchison College’s Principal, Dr Agha Ghazanfar from his office. The noted educationist was removed for reportedly refusing admission to scions of influential political leaders against the merit.

Sources close to the developments revealed that grandsons’ of speaker national assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Geelani were failed to pass College entry test. Denying the influence from high-ups, Dr Agha didn’t allow any admission against merit that led College Board of Governors to remove him from his post.

Talking to media Dr Agha confirmed that Aitchison is increasingly becoming a hotbed of corruption and authorities bent to disregard merit.

A nation with such an open and rampant disregard for merit does not need any enemies. This incident alone is sufficient to explain why we are what we are and why other countries are what they are. Unless merit is not held above personal benefits and associations, development of a prosperous, peaceful and vibrant society would remain mere a dream.

بجرنگی بھائی جان کے بعد پاکستانی رپورٹر چاند نواب پر شہرت کی دیوی مہربان

عزت، شہرت، دولت اور مقام و رتبے کا قدرت کا اک اپنا نظام ہے۔ یہ نظام صلاحیت، حثیت اور اثرو رسوخ سے ماورا بروئے کار آ کر کمزوروں کو عزت، گمنامی کی زندگی بسر کرنے والوں کو شہرت اور پائی پائی کو ترسنے والوں پر دولت کی بارش یوں کرتا ہے کہ دوسرے لوگ رشک اور حسد کرتے رہ جاتے ہیں۔ عملی زندگی میں جہاں بہترین صلاحیتوں کے حامل لوگ اپنی روزی روٹی کی فکر سے فرصت نہیں پاتے وہیں  اوسط درجے کی صلاحیتوں کے حامل لوگ دولت اور شہرت کی بلندیوں پر نظر آتے ہیں۔ اگر قدرت کا یہ نظام نہ ہوتا تو دنیا کے90 فی صد لوگ بھوک اور افلاس کا شکار ہو چکے ہوتے۔

آج سے چھ سال پہلے عید کے موقع پر اک پاکستانی رپورٹرچاند نواب کراچی سے لوگوں کی اندرون ملک روانگی کی رپورٹ تیار کررہے تھے اس دوران  وہ بار بار اٹک رہے تھے۔ کبھی تو ان کی زبان لڑکھڑا جاتی اور کبھی کوئی راہگیر درمیان میں آدھمکتا اور یوں ان کی  رپورٹ نامکمل رہ جاتی۔ ان کی اس رپورٹنگ کی ویڈیو جب سوشل میڈیا پر چلی تو کچھ ہی دنوں میں اس کے دیکھنے والوں کی تعداد لاکھوں تک جا پہنچی۔ پاکستان کے علاوہ ہندوستان اور پوری دنیا میں لوگ چاند نواب کی اس ویڈیو سے محظوظ ہوئے۔

بی بی سی سے بات کرتے ہوئے چاند نواب نے بتایا کہ اس ویڈیو کہ انٹرنیٹ پر جانے سے وہ اس قدر پریشان ہوئے کہ شرمندگی کے مارے کئی روز تک گھر سے باہر نہ نکل سکے۔ ان کی نوکری خطرے میں پڑھ گئی۔ اب قدرت کا نظام ملاحظہ فرمائیے کہ وہی ویڈیو جس کی وجہ سے چاند نواب اپنے گھر سے باہر نہیں نکلتے تھے اور ان کی نوکری خطرے میں پڑھ گئی تھی، اب ان کے لئے عزت، دولت اور سب سے بڑھ کر شہرت کا باعث بن گئی ہے۔

انڈین فلم بجرنگی بھائی جان کے پروڈیوسر کبیر خان نے جب یہ ویڈیو کلپ انیٹرنیٹ پر دیکھا تو اسے اپنی فلم کا حصہ بنانے کا فیصلہ کیا۔ فلم میں ایکٹر نوازالدین صدیقی چاند نواب کر کردار کرتے وہی الفاظ دہراتے نظر آتے ہیں۔ بجرنگی بھائی جان کے بعد چاند نواب کو اک نئی پہچان اور شناخت ملی گئی۔  چاند نواب جوکئی روز تک بیکارکراچی پریس کلب میں بیٹھے رہتے تھے اور جو ٹی وی چینل ان کو منہ نہیں لگاتے تھے اب چاند نواب سے انٹرویو کا ٹائم لینے کے لئے بھاگ رہے ہیں۔

بعض دفعہ کی ہوئی اک چھوٹی سی غلطی کی اتنی بڑی سزا ملتی ہے کہ وہ عمر بھر کا پچھتاوا بن جاتی ہے اور کبھی غلطی الٹا عزت اور شہرت کا باعث بن جاتی ہے۔ پاکستان کی میڈیا انڈسٹری میں کئی بہترین صلاحیتوں کے حامل رپورٹر موجود ہیں جو زبردست رپورٹنگ کے باعث جانے جاتے ہیں۔ مگر جو ستائش اور شہرت اوسط صلاحیت کے حامل چاند نواب کے حصے میں اک غلطی کی بدولت آئی ہے بڑے بڑے رپورٹر بہترین کام کے باوجود اس کا خواب میں بھی نہیں سوچ سکتے۔

بے شک اللہ جسے چاہے عزت دیتا ہے اور جس کو چاہے ذلت سے ہمکنار کرتا ہے۔ عزت، شہرت اور دولت سے بندوں کو نوازے کا اس کا اک اپنا نظام ہے۔ اگریہ نظام نہ ہوتا تو چاند نواب کو نہ صرف کوئی چینل اندر نہ گھسنے دیتا بلکہ اس کا تمسخر اڑا کر اس کی عزت نفس پر بھی کاری وار لگائے جاتے۔ اس پر آوازے کسے جاتے اور بے ہودہ تبصرے کئے جاتے۔

 اللہ کا یہ نظام جب بروئے کارآ کر تہی دست، گمنام اور اوسط صلاحیتوں کے مالک اپنے بندوں کو نوازتا ہے تو طاقتور، اعلی رتبوں پر فائز اور بہترین صلاحیتوں کے حامل لوگ دنگ رہ جاتے ہیں.

What was new in BBC's documentary revealing MQM got funded by Indian RAW

Finally BBC found out that Altaf Hussain is involved in terrorist activities and got funds from Indian RAW. 

Altaf Hussain has been doing what he is doing now since last 23 years right under the nose of British government and BBC. It took them 23 years to find out about violent activities of MQM in Karachi, only because the victims of MQM terrorism were citizens of Pakistan. During this entire time, Altaf Hussain made himself available to be used as a tool to accomplish Western Interests so British eyes and ears were unable to see any thing wrong with what Altaf Hussain was doing in London. With growing amount of evidence, now Altaf Hussain became a burden for UK so all of the sudden, BBC woke up telling world that a British citizen - Altaf Hussain is trying to destabilize Pakistan's largest city Karachi with funds and training of Indian RAW.

Shameful logic of Abid Sher Ali - Govt is not responsible for Karachi Heat Deaths

As weather turned harsh and mercury started touching extremely high levels, tragedy unfolded for the residents of Pakistani city of Karachi. Pakistani rulers only helped situation to become even worse with 20 hours long load shedding. 

Many people ended up in hospitals and several of them could not survive resulting in a high death toll. Now Federal Minister for water and power Abid Sher Ali came up with a rather shameful logic that government is not responsible for Karachi heat deaths. What does he mean, under 48 degree centigrade heat if there is no water and power and people die, it is fault of people who are losing their lives. In fact Pakistan is being run by a bunch of non-sense people who have nothing to do with ordinary people and their problems, they are just in power to grab resources and build their business empires.
